Hello, my name is Frederik Mademann. I am a saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist and music teacher living in Munich.
Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by moving people with my music and the saxophone. Even as a child I spent a lot of time with my instrument and was fascinated by the world of music. As a student I played in the Youth Jazz Orchestra of Baden Württemberg and the Big Band of the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen. Soon I decided to make music my profession. My path led me to Nuremberg, where I studied jazz saxophone with Prof. Klaus Graf and Stefan Karl Schmid. I also moved to the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (NDL) for one semester to deepen my studies with Prof. John Ruocco.
Fortunately I was accepted into the Bundes Jugend Jazzorchester (BuJazzO) at this time. Under the direction of Niels Klein and Jiggs Whigham, I was able to play saxophone on several CD productions and many inspiring tours, including India and Great Britain.
After completing my studies, I decided to add a master's degree in music education at the Jazzcampus in Basel (CH) to my previous education.
Meanwhile I live and work in Munich. I play about 80 concerts a year with the Jazzrausch Bigband and can be heard on the following CD productions of the band: "Alle Jahre wieder", "Emergenz", "techné" and "Beethoven's Breakdown" (ACT Music).
The band allows me to live out my passion for playing music live and moving people, as well as traveling the world with my profession.
On tour with the band I have already been to Africa, the USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Serbia, France and the UK.
I can also be heard in various other projects, such as GRAPHA. The debut CD of the band 'Bös' lecker" was released in 2020 by Chaos Records.
I also teach the saxophone and work as an event saxophonist at various events. I'm also completing a second master's degree in cultural and music management at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich.
